Tips
To make the most of these Catalina deals, spend as close to the minimum ($15) as possible.  If necessary, do multiple transactions or multiple store visits.
Here's the reason.  You can choose a discount of $5 when you spend $15, which is about a 33% discount, or you can spend $20 and only get $5 back (20$ discount).  To make the most of the promotion, spend as close to $15 as possible. 

Maximize your savings by buying multiples of items you'll use later at this significantly discounted price. 
An extra store visit or two this week will pay off in the long run if you keep those items in your pantry and "shop" there when you need the item, rather than at the store, where you'll pay full price.

Use coupons where possible to lower your price even further! 
There are coupons out there for most of these products.  The closer your coupon total comes to the after Catalina price, the lower the net cost of the item.  example: Frosting is $1.28, but .86 after you factor in the Catalina savings.  Since we have .50/1 coupons that double to $1, the net cost of the frosting is better than FREE. 

At Checkout, you will pay the sale price of the items minus your coupons, but will get a $5 coupon back after checkout to use on your next order.  Back to my frosting example: buy 12 frosting tubs for a total of $15.36.  Use 12 coupons that double to $1 each to reduce your total to $3.36.  Pay $3.36 at checkout, receive a $5 coupon back.  So, you profited $1.64, but also have frosting enough to last you a year and some to give away as well. 

So, coming about 12 frosting coupons might be difficult, plus there are probably other items you want to buy.  Follow the tips above (Stick as close to $15 as possible, use high value coupons, and buy in multiples if you have multiple coupons) and let us know how it goes for you!  I'll post a few actual deal scenarios in a separate post.
