Giving Back - YWCA Asking for Help

As many of you might know from watching local news, the YWCA Cass Clay, a local shelter for women and children is currently operating well over capacity and has asked for help from the community with the extra needs that arise from that. Since I know many of you couponers "play the drugstore game" at Walgreens and CVS, I want to challenge you to go through your stockpiles and pantries with the YWCA's current needs in mind and possibly be a blessing to the YWCA at this time.

Here are just a few of the most urgent needs:

*Women's personal care products (body wash, deodorant)

*Any and all food is needed (including fresh and frozen meat, produce and dairy)

*Monetary donations for new beds

To see their full list, head over here.

Those of you that have heard me speak on the topic of couponing or know me personally know that one of the reasons I shop like I do is to be able to give when the need arises. It is especially fulfilling personally to know that in the time I was already spending to shop for my own family, I can provide for others with no extra monetary cost to me. I love using coupons!

Whether or not you use coupons, maybe you can give some of what you have to benefit the service that the YWCA is providing to ladies and children in the community that need an emergency shelter.

If you have donations, please take them to the Emergency Shelter at 3000 S. University in Fargo.  Call the Emergency Shelter at 701-232-3449 with any questions. Or, if you'd rather, bring them to the Get-Together + Coupon Swap tomorrow morning at West Acres Mall.  I'll happily deliver them for you!

  1. I dropped off a big bag yesterday - Lots of Nivea and Olay body wash that I got for free with coupons. 40 bars of Dove soap that I also got for free with coupons. And some Colage toothpaste that I've been stockpiling from Walgreens this week!

  4. I am out of town & feel so far away, but I found women's & children's socks & underwear on clearance for $3 at a hometown store so Mom & I picked up a few to bring back. I'm going through my cupboards in my mind & will take a load when I'm back in town!
