Frugal Fail: Chicken on the Kitchen Floor

I went shopping at Cash Wise yesterday and bought 2 Gold'n Plump Whole Chickens. On sale for $3.88 and with a $1 coupon, these were a great price!  I like to cook 2 of these in the crock pot at one time and freeze portions of cooked chicken to have on hand for recipes.  It save time and money to buy whole chickens at less than $1/lb and cook them ahead of time.

Except when you leave them sitting at the top of the stairs to go down to the basement freezer.

And find them there the next day.

Ugh!  It's been that kind of few days...  Care to share your frugal fails to ease my pain?

  1. Frugal Fail, Ice Cream. It doesn't help to buy 3 five-quart pails of French Vanilla Ice Cream, when you forget them in the trunk of your car. Whoops!

  2. Ohh been there...I did that with hamburger not that long ago. And my husband left a nearly brand new bucket of ice cream out on our stove after his midnight snack one night. So irritating!

  3. Was in Wal-Mart and found a great deal on ready for the crockpot roast with veggies. Put it in a keep cold silver bag in the back of my SUV and then went for supper with friends. Get back to car to find my dog had found the roast and was starting to put a dent in that after polishing off an entire package of pepperoni! Oh I was livid.

  4. Sams club package of string cheese left in the car overnight. In the summer. Sadness. =(

  5. Unplugging the deep freeze in the garage to use a saw for 10 minutes. Forgot to plug it back in = HUGE FAIL! and a stinky mess in August...

  6. Hallway cluttered with bags of my coupon finds. Stepping on them and crack whatever's inside.

  7. Bought eggs on sale for .49/dozen a couple weeks ago. Forget them in van overnight. Ever see what happens to eggs when they freeze? Not pretty!

  8. I don't know what you do with meat when that happens, but you could still get rid of them on craigslist or freecycle as pet food. Some people have their pets on a raw diet or a special diet because of an illness.
