Coupon Swaps 2/16 and 3/16!

Happy snow day! It's been a long time since I've felt as though I've been able to post here, but I am preparing to return to blogging very soon!

In the meanwhile...mark your calendars: Coupon swaps will resume this coming Saturday Feb 16th and then Saturday March 16th at West Acres from 10-12 in the Food Court. Anyone is welcome to share coupons or just to visit!

I've missed you! I apologize for the long absence, but I'm looking forward to sharing deals again soon!

On a side note, I have had some issues with blogger, where my website is currently located.  Until my new site is running, I'll be sharing deals over at the FM Cheapskate Facebook page.  Even if you aren't on Facebook, you should still be able to view and click on links to see deals.

Reminder: Coupon Swap this Saturday 4/28!

Don’t forget about our upcoming Get Together + Coupon Swap, this Saturday 4/28 from 10-Noon in the Food Court at the West Acres Mall! Hope to see you there!

Get Together + Coupon Swap Saturday Morning!

Don't forget to join us for a Get Together + Coupon Swap this Saturday morning 3/31 from 10-12 at the West Acres Mall.

March + April Swap Dates!

March and April Coupon Swap dates are scheduled!

Join me on March 31st and April 28th for our next Get Together + Coupon Swaps.

We will meet in the Food Court at West Acres Mall in Fargo from 10 AM - Noon both days. A swap is a totally informal gathering of coupon friendly folks looking to find some coupons they can use, get organized or just meet other couponers.  Anyone is welcome!  Bring coupons if you have some to share, we send them around the table taking what we can use and leaving the rest.  If you don't have coupons to share, but would like to come you are certainly welcome!  There are plenty of coupons to go around!

Also, if you have expired coupons bring them!  We collect them and turn them in to a nursing home in the area that collects, clips and sends them overseas to our troops and their families who can use them up to 6 months after the expiration date!

If you're looking for certain coupons, leave a comment on the Coupon Trades Page so others can help you out if they can!  See you then!

Get Together + Get Organized Tonight!

If you are planning to join me and several others tonight to Get Together + Get Organized, here are some details for you:

We have a large room at Bethel Church (just behind the 25th St SunMart) from 5-9 PM tonight, Friday. Park in the main lot and use the southeast doors. There will be a sign directing you straight ahead then downstairs to room C. Come anytime or the whole time, it's up to you!

Get Together is FREE!

Anyone is welcome.

It will be casual. Bring a snack to share, bring a fast food dinner. It's up to you.

Bring your coupons. And scissors. :)

Bring your organizing tools. Need ideas? Read more on Coupon Organizing ideas here.

Get ideas from others. Meet others who share the love of a good deal.

I've heard from a few of you that have kids that would need to come. I understand. There's a good chance my baby will be joining us for some of the evening. Bring them with a book or DVD player. We'll be in a larger classroom, so there will be space for them.

Have more questions? Email me at fmcheapskate@gmail.com. See you tonight!

January + February Swap Dates

Get Together + Get Organized!

It's a New Year, and in case you didn't notice, half of our coupon stash expired on 12/31! It was mentioned on the FM Cheapskate Facebook page last fall that we should have some kind of coupon organization retreat, kind of like the way that scrapbookers have scrapbook retreats. I laughed at first, then thought that I wouldn't mind a few hours in a row that were dedicated only to getting my coupon stash cleaned out and organized.

Thanks to reader Stacy, we are making it happen! We have reserved a room at Bethel Church (near SunMart in south Fargo) on Friday Night, January 27th from 5-9 PM. There is no cost to you to come and get organized. On the plus side, you'll have an opportunity to do it while meeting new coupon friends as well!

This is a casual thing.  Come and go as you need to.   Bring a snack to share if you'd like!  Be sure to bring your scissors and preferred method of organizing!  For those of you that are looking for the best method of organizing, I will post a series of coupon organization ideas for you in the weeks before the event to help you get started.

RSVP here or by emailing me at fmcheapskate@gmail.com. No RSVP is necessary, but it will help me plan accordingly if you are able to. See you January 27th!

Get Together + Coupon Swap 12/17

Get-Together + Coupon Swaps 11/19 and 12/17!

Join me and several others for a Get Together + Coupon Swap this Saturday 11/19 and again 12/17 from 10 AM-Noon at the West Acres Mall!  We usually scoot a few tables together in the Food Court and are pretty easy to spot.  We were meeting twice a month through the fall, but with November and December being holiday months I think once is plenty.  I'd love your opinion on how often we should meet in the spring.

What is a coupon swap?  It is a totally informal gathering of coupon friendly folks looking to find some coupons they can use, get organized or just meet other couponers.  Bring coupons if you have some to share, we send them around the table taking what we can use and leaving the rest.  If you don't have coupons to share, but would like to come you are certainly welcome!  There are plenty of coupons to go around!

Fall Get Together + Swap Dates!

At the request of several of you, we're going to try meeting twice a month to swap coupons!  Hopefully this will enable even more people to be able to join us for either date, or both for those that are interested!  Right now we're going to try the 2nd and 4th Saturday mornings of each month.  We will give this a trial run for a few months to see how it goes and see what we want to do from there.

Fall Swap dates will be: 9/10, 9/24, 10/8 and 10/22.  We'll meet Saturday mornings from 10-Noon at West Acres in the Food Court.

Now, a few others have asked about dates other than Saturdays. I'm always open to your input, as these are not for me, but for all of you!  Saturdays are a day that works great for me, but I'm open to trying another day of the week as well if there's enough interest.   Those of you that have asked for dates other than Saturdays, please leave a comment on the blog or on the Facebook post (or email me) with a day of the week and time that would interest you.  For example: Wednesday morning or Monday evenings. I would appreciate that as I plan to try to accommodate as many as we can!

Look for events to be posted on the FM Cheapskate Facebook page, as well as reminders about a week before hand. And remember, everyone is welcome! Come with or without coupons to share, and I promise you'll come away with some you can use!

Couponing for a Cause: Minot Donation Drive Today!

Don't forget to come out to West Acres this afternoon from 4-7 to drop off your donation items for Couponing for a Cause!

We're collecting nonperishable food items, bottled water and other beverages, personal items, cleaning supplies, baby items and pet items to send with the Great Plains Food Bank and PetSmart to Minot.

One more item to think about bringing: I called the Great Plains Food Bank this morning and confirmed that they will also accept entertainment items to distribute to families at the Red Cross shelters in Minot. I went through my gift closet and found LOTS of crayons, markers, coloring books and puzzles, a few board games, books and toys I've purchased on sale or clearance. Being a mom of a 4 year old, I can't imagine being cooped up in a shelter without something with which to entertain my daughter! Consider checking out your stockpile or gift closet area for these kinds of items as well!

Come out and say hi, bring your items and we'll send it where it's needed, then tally it all up to show what coupons can do!

Couponers Unite to Help Flood Victims!

I've posted about a few ways you can help the flood victims in Minot and surrounding areas and events and ways to donate for the displaced pets. For those of you who haven't donated yet or want to contribute again, Brittany over at Frugal in Fargo and I have joined forces to showcase the power of coupons used for good!

Join us for a donation drive we're calling "Couponing for a Cause" this Wednesday, June 29th from 4-7 PM at West Acres.

For more info on what we're collecting and where to find us, head over to Frugal in Fargo, where Brittany will give you all the details!  We're excited for lots of you to come out and say hi while you donate!

Oh, and while you're at it, share the Facebook event page with your friends to let them know as well!

Get Together + Coupon Swap Tomorrow 6/18!

Sorry for the late update on this Get Together! I haven't found another location, so we'll meet tomorrow morning in the West Acres Food Court from 10-12 as usual.

Look for the ones wielding scissors and coupon files. :)

Everyone is welcome!  If you haven't joined us for a swap before, come out to say hi!

Bring coupons to swap that you won't use. If you don't have any coupons to swap, come anyway - there are plenty of coupons to go around!

Looking for a specific coupon? Leave a note on the Coupon Trades Page!

See you tomorrow!

Summer Get Together + Coupon Swap Dates!

I'm happy to announce a swap date more than a week in advance!

We'll meet this summer on June 18th and July 23rd! August TBA...

I'm concerned about continuing to meet in the West Acres Food Court as our group grows larger, even though I really love meeting there! Do you have any suggestions for a public location with a meeting room, common space or something similar that we could use for coupon swaps once per month?

We generally meet on Saturday mornings once per month from about 10 AM to Noon. Something with no charge, or only a nominal charge would be best!

Mark your calendars and see you all there!
